One of the computers I anticipated to get, but never did due to space. Now that I have more space than I used to have, I decided to get one, especially while I came across one in VCF Southwest. I love this machine already, even with classic Mac OS's shortcomings. I have gone ahead and set it up in this video, along with some strange networking where my entire server setup is Linux + Windows based instead of a single Macintosh software in sight. If you ARE curious, here are the specs: EveryMac page for stock system: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/specs/powermac_g4_400_2.html System: Power Mac G4 400 (Gigabit) CPU: PowerPC G4 @ 400 MHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 RAM: 896 MB PC100 SDRAM SSD: 180 GB Intel SSD (I say it's 160 GB in the video. It's not, also IDE 137 GB limit) OS: Mac OS 9.2.2 Patrons: Kugee Music Credits: Nighthawk - Annie Unreal Tournament 1999 - Foregone Destruction Nighthawk - Crossroads Nighthawk - Last Sunset Video Credits: CarnelProd666 - How To Replace The Optical Drive In A "Graphite" Power Macintosh G4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-v1iEeK_9s) Special Thanks: Macintosh Garden: Archival of Macintosh software! EveryMac.com: Spec info on this specific system. VCF Southwest Dallas: Fun memories, and where I got this G4 from! SkyeWeeb: For assistance on extracting icon files from WMP Wallpaper Link: https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/50411224 by Risutaru This video was edited entirely in kdenlive. It's not quite ready for my production use as I've had its rendering crash multiple times, so I had to render the video in multiple files and stitch them together using FFMPEG. It works pretty well otherwise! I'm getting tired of fighting the whole song and dance with DaVinci Resolve and CUDA support on Linux, so kdenlive is the next best thing.
