I think it's about a good time to return to my roots. So, the SSD Xbox. Why did I embark upon it? Well, one main reason. The 10 GB HDD that came with it is a ticking time bomb. It was not because of Druaga1 inspiration at all. Well, kinda, but that's besides the point. I had no idea the optical drive was almost toast before attempting to softmod it. Thankfully, I didn't waste any time because I knew the Splinter Cell method wouldn't work...because I don't have the game. I jumped straight to the HDD hotswap method, much to dismay. It took many tries to get my laptop to detect an unlocked HDD, but at the end I managed to make it work. Though not mentioned in the original video, I did have a bit of a panic because I accidentally changed the EEPROM's HDD password on the original drive, and not the SSD, while in diagnosis. I almost bricked an entire SSD until I realized I had the old HDD password stored in clear text somewhere on the other drive. THANK GOD. This Xbox is also 100% stock apart from the drive. No modchips, HDMI mods, or any of the sort. That's beyond the scope of my channel. I'm mainly a software girly. I also think the modchips aren't TOO necessary unless you want to go crazy. HDMI mods also aren't necessary for me since I have a scaler on my setup already. I go over a couple of things and play some games. That's all.
